Sad day.

Along with a lot of other people around here, wishing Captain Beefheart peace.

The Mountain Goats - Bitter Melon Farm

One of three Mountain Goats compilations, full of EP songs and other rare stuff. Everything by the Mountain Goats is good. This is especially good. Also can't go wrong when it ends with an Ace of Base cover.

The White Stripes - Under Blackpool Lights (2004)

Audio rip. Really really good. Who doesn't like the White Stripes? Especially right in 2004? I could bone and bone, but it's just totally worth it. One of my favorites. The other girl who posts on here (at least used to, if she ever comes back) saw them back on their tour for Elephant. Jealous as fuck.

This version of Death Letter will kick your ass. I recommend youtubing it first. In fact...

Bike for Three! - More Heart Than Brains (2009)

Okay. Hello Again. Bike for Three! More Heart Than Brains, a new collaboration from BUCK 65 and GREETINGS FROM TUSKAN.

It's like shiny things in the dark. (Sorry.)

Buy it if you've got money.

Or if not, here you go. It's VBR, and it sounds fine to me. And this album is from both Canada AND Belgium.

The Fugs - First Album (1965)

The first ten tracks of this one, I believe, were the original Fugs album, the next 11 are bonus tracks added on a 1993 reissue. Hard to say much about this record...it's weird and excellent and funny, but you can still take it seriously (sometimes). I think the songwriting is fucking superb, but the performance is so unusual. I think if the term had existed, they would have been pegged "outsider." Whatever the fuck that means.
